IN SEARCH OF FATHERHOOD(R)--TRANSCENDING BOUNDARIES
Working on a volunteer basis as a publicist for a number of non-profit organizations based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has been and continues to be an inspiring and horizon-expanding experience.
The past nine years of my life have been devoted to resurrecting the vision for an interactive Fatherhood Forum of my mentor -- the late L. T. Henry -- an author, photojournalist, sales and success motivation trainer and classically trained jazz musician who performed briefly with The Philadelphia Orchestra and was the former drummer for internationally acclaimed songstress and film and television actress Ms. Della Reese. He created and shared with me the concept for IN SEARCH OF FATHERHOOD(R) -- an interactive Fatherhood Forum -- but died in March 1999 without having an opportunity to develop it.
Serving as the Managing Editor of IN SEARCH OF FATHERHOOD(R) (www.bsi-international.com), a quarterly international male parenting journal which is distributed in The Netherlands and the United States; becoming the Editor/Author of a Fatherhood book -- IN SEARCH OF FATHERHOOD(R)--TRANSCENDING BOUNDARIES (www.xlibris.com; www.amazon.com; www.borders.com) - - in which I have compiled essays from and interviews of 16 Men from diverse geographic locations and professional backgrounds -- which include, among others, Warren Farrell,Ph.D. (www.warrenfarrell.com), a best-selling author who has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN, The Today Show and internationally acclaimed Harvard University Psychiatry Professor Alvin F. Poussaint (www.jbcc.harvard.edu/about/faculty/a_poussaint_full. htm); and creating two blogs -- IN SEARCH OF FATHERHOOD(R) (http://globalfatherhooddialogue.blogspot.com) and CHILDREN'S CORNER (http://buildingabridgetothefuture. blogspot.com) -- resurrect my late Mentor's vision and perpetuates his legacy.
It is the least that I could do for someone who shared his time and wisdom with me and positively influenced my personal and professional development.
I am who I am because of him.
And the person that I am yet to be is because of him.

CharityOne.TV will respond to one of the most frustrating problems for non-profit organizations -- obtaining publicity and a platform for the vital services which they provide. Most non-profit organizations do not have the funding or the staff available to stage the type of "media blitz" needed to educate the general public, philanthropists and prospective volunteers about their mission -- which plays a pivolal role in their solvency, ability to continue to provide effective and high quality resources and support services where it is needed most, and their ability to attract and retain volunteers and highly competent staff.
The creation of CharityOne.TV is definitely "on point" in view of the fact that United States Senator Edward Kennedy (D.-Mass) and Orin Hatch (R-.Utah) are introducing The Serve America Act which is being hailed as a major new national service bill which will facilitate the recruiting of at least 175,000 Americans who will help to create key "pieces of the puzzle" to resolving a number of critical national issues (e.g., education, health, energy, the environment, etc.).
