They're yours,ours and mine! The truth is painful. For us to truly make a difference we need to see the children, hear their cries, feel their pain and see what is happening to them. We need to let them know they are not forgotten. We need to validate their fears, their tears and reach out to them. Only then will we be able to do something about it. We are all part of a valuable force that can break these chains and make a difference.
It shouldn't hurt to be a kid.... * Child abuse is physical- shaking, hitting, beating, burning, or biting a child. * Child abuse is emotional- constantly blaming or putting down a child; excessive yelling, shaming. * Child abuse is sexual- incest, any forced sexual activity, exposure to sexual stimulation not appropriate for the child's age. * Child abuse is neglect- a pattern of failure to provide for the child's physical needs, such as food, clothing, shelter, and medical care; a pattern of failure to provide for the child's emotional needs, such as affection, attention, and supervision.

Shaken Baby Syndrome
What is Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS)?
• SBS is the injury to an infant, toddler or young child resulting from being shaken violently.
• SBS can occur when a child receives as few as three (3) rapid shakes; head impact is not necessary although frequently occurs.
